Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's departure from her family members, she was brought up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. When she was a little girl, she struggled with an obsessional disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word association. Ford became attracted to acting in her teens, and enrolled in the National Youth Theatre. The school she was accepted to was Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just a few weeks, she realized this school wasn't suitable for her. Ford decided to apply for admission to Central School of Speech and Drama and securing a place on her third attempt made an application and secured acceptance to Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall was one of Ford's fellow students. The actor went on to get regular roles in the shows Pete Tyler and Doctor Who. Ford received her degree in 1993. But, before then, Ford made a television debut in Surgical Spirit in an episode in 1990. Ford took the professional name of Catherine Tate. During the Nineties, Tate could be seen on television in programmes like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. She also worked regularly in the theatre, eventually being a part of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate received recognition for her comedy stand-up and has been added to her portfolio in the year 1996.
