Amy Smart

Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Born and brought up in California, USA, she started her modelling career in Italy. She began her acting career in 1996, when she appeared in the TV film 'Her Costly Affair'. Then, as a supporting character in the movie 'Starship Troopers', she was a struggle. Amy struggled to make the leap from modeling into acting because models were typically not thought of as actors. They would often be given small and unimportant parts. Amy did not give up. She outdid herself in her roles from the 70's' show and the film Varsity Blues. In 2005, Amy took as the lead in the romantic comedy 'Just Friends'. Ryan Reynolds also played the role. It was a significant film at the box office and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been searching for for nearly a decade. The actress continued her work in big films, including the "Crank" series with Jason Statham and the series 'Shameless', where she played a beloved frequent character.
